Making the move from big city life to the Monferrato wine country

My friend Mireille and I

10 days after our return from our weekend spent in the scenic hills of the Monferrato countryside a girlfriend of mine calls to tell me that they are thinking about moving out of the city.

She tells me they are tired of the all the people, (what people?) the noise, (what noise?) the traffic and pollution. (all right, there is a bit of that.)

It must be contagious. I mean I love the city,(sort of ) however, I often find myself wondering what it would be like living in the country since that weekend.  I think about my friend Laura and her husband Wolf Pazurek and the beautiful job they’ve done restoring their house. The courage it must have taken to make the jump, the clever idea they had opening their gorgeous little art gallery –  Art Partner.   How romantic it all is –  that weekend sitting in front of a warm fire, a glass of wine in your hand and good friends around you.

Things to see for the super cool traveler

Think of the life your kids could have in a place like this, even if you don’t have kids tell me that you wouldn’t want to live here. I do, especially now, like as in right now – actually Laura if your reading this can I come and live with you for a while?  Just a couple of months until our place is ready..

Who wants to live here - raise your hand
