Winter getaways in Northern Italy: the great Dolomite Mountains

Although I have been here before it continues to amaze me the breath-taking beauty of the Dolomites. After an entire year dedicated to the our new home, I left Milan knowing that all the pieces were in place and that we will be moving shortly after the new year.

Finally a moment to relax and unwind. And unwind I did. And unwind, and unwind. It’s funny because we can go and go and go, often without ever quite realizing how much we accomplish. How nice it is to have some worry free time to fully enjoy your family.

So here we are in these gorgeous mountains, surrounded by family and people we love.

The kids are playing and fighting, as kids do, the adults are drinking and eating as adults do, and life is just wonderful, and these are the moments we have to cherish. A bit of hard-earned free time with those you love, watching your children ski for the first time and make angels in the snow with their cousins.

I will write more about this beautiful area, especially for those of you who are avid travelers.

For now, I’m just breathing in the clean cold crisp air and admiring the vast blue skies of these incredible mountains!
