The big move part 2: our happy home.

There was one minor detail that I didn’t tell you. I decided to move into our new apartment even though it was not quite finished. My husband asked me several times to reconsider this and my sister-in-law thought I was nuts, but I just felt like the more time I gave to the construction company the longer it took to get things done. I moved my family into an apartment that was still having walls painted, okay – so 1 wall was sort of still being built.

yes they were still building when we moved in

The day we moved I had 200 boxes, 3 giant plants, and every piece of furniture I own,(including my kitchen) all sitting in my living room. This plus 2 painters, 4 construction workers, 1 electrician, 1 man hooking up the gas and 2 men putting together my kitchen.  It was not a pretty site, I can assure you. I cleaned and unpacked, clean and unpacked, cleaned and unpacked for 3 days straight all the time silently wondering if I had accidentally packed my brain away amidst all the boxes. (The only logical reason for moving my entire family into an apartment that was not finished.)

Now this is what I call serious closet space!

At the end of the 3 days time our apartment was miraculously finished!

An entire year of hard work following every detail of our home and we were finally home.
