The next day I’m beat, after work I pick up a freshly made minestrone, some pecorino cheese, and some pane carasau from my fruit stand. (Which is not really a stand at all but more like a mini-supermarket all inside 10 meters squared that has EVERYTHING including fresh cooked soups, breakfast cookies, tea, tuna and wine!) I head home looking forward to going to an early night. A close friend of mine, up and coming shoe designer Inga Savits calls me and invites me to the Serpenti Cocktail Event at the Bulgari Hotel in Milan. (one of the most exclusive places to stay in Milan..ahem, if your a big spender.) I tell her no.
A half an hour later I’m out the door, after very carefully trying to remember what it is one wears to events like this.
Then it comes back to me.
I get to The Bulgari Hotel and find Inga who is also dressed in black with the exception of a very gorgeous pair of gold high heel sandals, her own design of course.
The Bulgari is fully decked out for the launch of a capsule collection of hand bags by Matthew Williamson. What better reason to have a party during fashion week?
To start things off, I set my champagne down on a small pedestal of what is clearly modern design
to take a few pictures of these pretty little bags for my readers. I am at once told to remove my glass.
I quickly recover from the little mishap and take this picture.
Then, I find a guy who has a gigantic professional camera to take a picture of Inga and I together, but later see that it is out of focus. Which just goes to show..
We drink our champagne, Inga gets her shoes photographed and then it’s time to go. Inga has the Versace show to see.
As for me, I have a minestrone waiting for me!
