Summer Vacation Part 1: The South of France

I just wanted to let  you know that it is official, school is out in Italy. We (as in kids and I) are now officially on summer vacation, 3 full months of vacation.

Unlike where I grew up most people who live in Milan,(especially those with small children) tend to escape at every chance, leaving the sweltering summer heat as far behind them as possible.  Myself included.

This year we are in the beautiful French Riviera, where we arrived less than 3 days ago. The start of our summer vacation with an overly full car, a briefcase full of work to do and my children who seemed to be doing nothing if not crying or fighting.

Finally, after 2 days they discover the never-ending play possibilities you can find in your own back yard, the freedom of going outside to play..

Yes summer vacation is here and though my thoughts are many and my worries even more, I feel completely at peace as I listen to the sweet sounding night concert given by the crickets and frogs..a silvery melody that will go on deep into the night.

About Cassidy_S

My name is Cassidy, I live in Northern Italy with my husband and 2 kids. When I first arrived to Italy the only thing I was sure of was that I wanted to live in this country, a country that is not known for its organization but is more beautiful than you can imagine!

Ciao Grace…dove sei esattamente in Francia? Se è la prima volta per te posso darti dei suggerimenti visto che vado da tanti anni con i miei 3 bambini! :))))
